August 25, 2008
Hawks Sign Veteran Forward Carlos Frazier

The Dallas Hawks are happy to announce the signing of
Veteran Forward Carlos Frazier of San Antonio, Texas.
Frazier came to Dallas after a successful year with the Major
Midget AA San Antonio Rampage where he led his team in goal-scoring
and placed second on the team in assists.

“Carlos Frazier is a welcome asset to the Hawks;
we wanted him to return because he is eager to lead our team
in every way: during practice and games as well as off the ice,”
says Head Coach Jeff Mewett, “Frazier improved tremendously last
season and demonstrated exactly the work ethic and skill we expect
from our veteran players this upcoming season.”

During his rookie year with the Hawks in 2007-2008, Frazier
averaged 2-3 points per game after returning from a shoulder injury
in January.

“I am looking forward to a great year with Dallas and wanted
to be part of this team during a pivotal year. I got to play when
Coach Mewett was the Assistant Coach and know that as Head Coach
he will give me many opportunities to develop and perform at my best.”

Frazier will be a Senior at the University of Texas High School and
anticipates graduating with Honors. Outside of hockey he enjoys working
out and hiking with his two dogs.

Rookie Play-Maker RJ Preisser of Washington State Signs with Hawks

The Hawks are excited to have signed newcomer RJ Preisser
of Des Moines, Washington to the team. RJ comes to Dallas from the
Spokane Midget U-18 team where he had 10 goals and 15 assists in 20
games. RJ has also played for the National Sports Academy in Lake Placid,
New York and Shattuck-St. Mary’s Academy where he was also a team
scoring leader.

RJ is looking forward to his time in Dallas where he “aspires
to be a first-line player and a leader on the team.” RJ is also anticipating
being a string student and an important part of the team’s community
service program. He has had very successful hockey career, including
numerous hat-trick awards and recognition as a playmaker, and he
expects nothing less of himself while playing for Dallas.

“The team is thrilled to have RJ join us,” says Coach Jeff
Mewett. “From the time he stepped on the ice at try-outs he demonstrated
solid hockey skills and a strong knowledge of the sport. He will
definitely be an asset to the entire team and will undoubtedly
have a successful developmental year.”
